Frequently Asked Questions

We have set up our business to provide “A La Carte” style customization to our customers.  As such, we quote each project individually rather than have a public pricing sheet.  We ask that customers contact us via e-mail or phone about pricing.  We recommend sending pictures over e-mail as they help us to understand what you are wanting done on your project.

By law, complete handguns or frames must be shipped 2nd day air by UPS or Federal Express, not through the post office.
Long guns, slides and barrels can be shipped through the Post Office.
If a complete firearm is shipped, please make sure your firearm is unloaded. Do not include any ammunition with the firearm.
Please package your firearm or parts in sufficient padding to make the voyage.  We can do lots of things, but fixing bent, flattened, or dented parts is not on the list.
We will notify you when we receive your package.
Our shipping address is:
        Gunworks Machine, LLC
                   1612 S. Mead
              Wichita, KS  67211
When we ship packages back to you, it will be with signature confirmation so no packages are left on a doorstep or walk off to a new home before you receive them.

Payment can be made with a money order or credit card.  If you choose to pay with a money order, it needs to be included with your firearm when it is shipped.  If you choose to pay with a credit card, we will e-mail an invoice when work is complete and you can pay from the link in that invoice via bank account or credit card.  All work must be paid in full before we return it to you.

PVD coatings are our most durable, longest lasting coatings.  These are industrial coatings we use on our carbide cutting tools as well as specialty applications.  PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition and is applied to the surface of the metal through a heated vacuum chamber.  As industrial coatings, they are typically 4 microns thick, as opposed to some companies advertising PVD coatings that are decorative at 0.3 microns thick.  These coatings have a low friction coefficient which acts as a self-lubricating property. Unlike Cerakote, the more you use it, the better it performs.  We offer PVD in the following:  TiALN (bronze), ALTiN (dark charcoal with hints of blue and/or purple), TiN (gold), and DLC (black).  Upon limited occasions, CrN (silver) is offered as well.  PVD coatings can be applied to most ferrous metals.  We offer it on all barrels, bolt carrier groups, and select brands of pistol slides.

We offer Cerakote firearm coatings as well.  Cerakote is not a paint, it is a Polymer-Ceramic coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood.  Cerakote comes in a wide range of colors and can be applied in a solid color, camo pattern, distressed pattern, stars & stripes, etc.  We do not offer Cerakote on barrels as the forces in effect while firing a handgun will strip the Cerakote off a barrel.
